چکیده
Abstract Laparoscopic treatment of inguinal hernia is a widely accepted technique, especially in the case bilateral or recurrent hernias. The evolution materials has led to successful use double layer prostheses for intraperitoneal wall defects, significantly reducing mesh-related complications. In this regard, literature data and availability non-absorbable, transparent, light surgical polypropylene, composed macroporous monofilament mesh transparent film, have re-proposal IPOM technique also primary After laparoscopic access abdomen using 10 mm trocar umbilical region two 5 trocars operating Iliac fossae, reduced by returning hernial contents their original compartments sac closed with possible lipoma purse-string suture. Subsequently, polypropylene composite prosthesis then inserted into abdomen, centered on defect fixed tack chemical glue. To date we performed procedures 6 patients (4 hernia). longest follow-up one year. were all discharged day after surgery, reporting mean postoperative pain score (assessed EHS QoL scale) equal 2 (range: 0–4), work resumption week average. This which easy perform reproducible, can reduce times minimize complications related preparation peritoneal pocket.

Chronic inguinal pain after laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair for inguinal hernia treated successfully with laparoscopic selective neurectomy: A case report
INTRODUCTION Laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair is occasionally used for inguinal hernia repair. Here, we report a case of chronic neuropathic pain after laparoscopic IPOM repair for inguinal hernia, which was treated successfully with laparoscopic selective neurectomy. PRESENTATION OF CASE A 59-year-old man with bilateral inguinal hernia underwent laparoscopic repair. Tran...

INTRODUCTION Despite an exponential rise in laparoscopic surgery for inguinal herniorrhaphy, overall recurrence rates have remained unchanged. Therefore, an increasing number of patients present with recurrent hernias after having failed anterior and laparoscopic repairs. This study reports our experience with single-incision laparoscopic (SIL) intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair for these...
متن کاملPolyvinylidene Fluoride-coated Polypropylene Mesh for Intraperitoneal Onlay Mesh (IPOM) Repair of Ventral and Incisional Herniae
Background: Dynamesh is a Polyvinylidene fluoride-coated polypropylene mesh. Its main use is for ventral hernia repairs as an on-lay mesh. The mesh was designed to have similar elasticity to the abdominal wall. It is reported to have good anti-adhesive properties while the large pores ensure rapid integration into the abdominal wall. A small series last year reported a high rate of complication...
متن کاملLaparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh for pediatric incisional hernia—a case report
BACKGROUND The incidence of incisional hernia in pediatric patients is low in comparison with that reported in adults. In the pediatric population, primary closure has generally been favored. However, synthetic or biomedical mesh offers advantages in the repair of larger defects when primary closure is difficult. The use of laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) in the adult population ...
متن کاملLaparoscopic ventral hernia repair: a comparative study of transabdominal preperitoneal versus intraperitoneal onlay mesh repair.
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is evolving rapidly worldwide to become a standard procedure. The purpose of this study was to compare the benefits, effectiveness, and postoperative outcome of laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) and intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair of ventral hernia. PATIENTS AND METHODS Prospectively collected data of 279 patients who under...
